Alceste has built a reputation for being a Misanthrope; he just can't keep still when it comes to telling everyone off. He views bluntness as a virtue, so much so that anyone foolish enough to ask his opinion ends up suing him for verbal abuse. But is he really as pessimistic as he pretends?
