Masque Alfresco is a non-profit theatre organized in
the Summer of 2002 to provide affordable, accessible theatre to the residents
of Portland Area communities, performing both classical and modern plays with
the following activities:
We tour parks in the Portland area during the summer, presenting Commedia dell'arte renderings of Molieré and Goldoni. The language of these plays is
adapted to modern audiences with topical references, and rendered
suitable for families with children.
We support emerging playwrights by providing staged readings of new plays as well as fully mounted productions.
We contribute to the continued development of actors by providing training
in both classical and experimental styles of theatre, as well as providing
a venue in which they can apply their acquired skills.
